Developing prototypes together with the InnCubator
We will support you with our expertise in the hands-on implementation of project ideas. Individually adapted to your project, we show you the possibilities for implementation and can realize them in the form of a prototype. We have access to a wide range of professional machines, both in the conventional field of wood and metal processing and in the fields of mechatronics, additive manufacturing and injection molding.
If your project exceeds the possibilities of our facilities, we will do our best with our many external partners to find a suitable solution for you.
IoT Lab: Rapid prototyping in the InnCubator
With the Internet of Things (IoT) Lab, we have succeeded in providing you with the tools for tomorrow’s innovations today. The newly created lab serves as a “testing room” and thus always follows our motto of being innovative together.
The state-of-the-art equipment for developing your IoT prototypes is available for you right at the InnCubator. With our modern FMD and SLA 3D printers and our desktop injection molding machine, you can quickly adapt your projects and produce smaller quantities quickly.
In the electronics area, you can develop your electrical circuits with the help of laboratory power supplies, plug-in boards and common electronic components, from which a finished product is then created using blank circuit boards and in-house assembly and functional testing.
Many thanks to the Förderkreis 1669 and the province of Tyrol for their support in financing the equipment. As part of our lighthouse funding for digitalization, we also offer further training in the field of IoT. You can find more information here.
WIFI workshops:
State-of-the-art machines with professional know-how
In order to realize more complex projects that exceed the capacities of the IoT Lab, we offer you access to the high-tech workshops and the expert knowledge of WIFI Tirol. The workshops equipped with state-of-the-art machinery in the fields of mechatronics, wood and metal construction offer you a unique opportunity in the Tyrol region to develop and manufacture your prototypes in a professional setting. In order to guarantee the best quality and save you time-consuming training, the machines are operated without exception by the workshop managers. Independent work is not possible here.

Möchtet ihr eure Idee bei uns in Form eines Prototypen verwirklichen? Dann könnt ihr zwischen zwei Mitgliedschaften wählen. Dadurch erhaltet ihr mit einem Prototypenpass Zugang zu den Maschinen des IoT-Labors, unserer Software und werdet Teil unseres innovativen Ökosystems. Nach einer kurzen Einschulung stehen euch die Maschinen laut den aktuellen Tarifen der Prototypen Pässe frei zur Verfügung. Erfahrene Maker dürfen nach Absprache die Maschinen selbstständig bedienen.
Euer Prototypen Pass erneuert sich automatisch und ist flexibel. Ihr könnt ihn monatlich ändern oder kündigen, und ist offen für Privatpersonen und Unternehmen.

Frequently Asked Questions
Of course this depends on the complexity of the project. Basically, the workshops of WIFI Tyrol are for training crafts and are mostly occupied with courses and exams. Availability and capacity for the implementation of prototypes must therefore be clarified individually. In any case, do not expect the project to be implemented within a week of the project application.
No, you are not allowed to do that. Due to the permanent training and the complexity and value of some machines, operation of the machines is only possible together with the experts of the WIFI workshops.
The kickoff point is the online application which you can find on this page. As soon as we receive your application, we will arrange an initial meeting with you at the InnCubator to find out more about your project. Once we consider your project suitable and your project plan compatible with the availability of the workshops we move on to the next round. In this phase, we will arrange a meeting with the respective workshop managers, clarify details and talk about possible next steps.
In the well-stocked metal workshop, including a fully equipped welding workshop, conventional milling, turning and bending machines are available. The equipment of the WIFI workshops can cover a large part of the common machining processes and extends to a 5-axis simultaneous CNC milling machine.
The well-stocked wood workshop at WIFI Tyrol is equipped with modern CNC milling machines in addition to machines for traditional woodworking.
