About Us
Intersection between business, research and further development.
Since its opening in 2016, the InnCubator has become an institution in the Tyrolean entrepreneurial ecosystem. Over the last few years, we have earned the reputation as a startup program that is the primary contact for business ideas and early-stage startups in Tyrol. The cooperation between project owners, the University of Innsbruck and the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce, is unique. In addition, the InnCubator benefits from a strong cooperation with the Tyrolean ecosystem and Startup.Tirol.
By October 2020, the InnCubator’s focus and range of services will expand to include additional user groups. This transition is considered to be the transformation of the InnCubator from a “Startup Center” into an “Innovation Center”. In the future, the InnCubator will act as a “Hub” within the Tyrolean innovation ecosystem. This way, innovations and innovation culture will be promoted on site and competencies in the field of innovation management and business model development will be imparted.
We establish a networked innovation ecosystem in a collaborative, future-oriented, innovation-driven and goal-oriented manner. This supports and individually educates the participants and further leads to innovations that have a sustainable impact on the economy.

Encourage talents
Offerings for students of all disciplines on entrepreneurship topics in cooperation with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship working group.
Challenge SMEs
Workshops on of idea generation and digital business models as part of the Digital Innovation Hub West subsidy and the further expansion of innovation support for SMEs.
Involve corporates
Individually agreed service packages for large corporations in return for sponsoring and expertise.
Accompany founders
Implementation of the so-called INNC- program for the support of founding teams.
Transfer research
The University’s research transfer office inspires academics to embrace entrepreneurship as an alternative career path. The InnCubator is also an important part of this mission.
Prototyping
Opportunity to create prototypes in cooperation with the experts and machinery of the WIFI laboratories.
Philosophy
We consider our underlying philosophy of seeing innovation as a cooperative activity (“Together we can do it”) and the central position between business, research and education as the core competencies of the InnCubator.
We address different target groups in the innovation ecosystem and coordinate our offerings in such a way that each participant receives an individualized package, but can interact with other participating user groups, gain new perspectives, and actively provide feedback themselves.
In combination with events about innovation and entrepreneurship as well as the WIFI Co-Working Space, we create a strong and networked ecosystem.
Workshop
The experts from the WIFI workshops support us in our prototyping activities. They aren’t just available for consultation, but also work directly on the implementation of the projects.
